Vipool read economics at Queens’ College Cambridge and qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton where he specialised in taxation.
Since 1985 he has been leading the practice of Godley & Co, Chartered Accountants, London. Vipool has over 25 years of tax experience. His specialisms include providing practical and commercial advice to growing family companies, international tax planning and VAT.
Vipool has close association with businesses in India. He is a former director of India Value Investments Limited and has co-authored a book, Inward and Outward Investment: India and the UK.
Vipool was a member of an NHS Health Authority for four years and has also served as a school governor at two schools for eight years. He has been involved in several charitable and professional organisations over the years.
Sapan is the managing partner of SKP Crossborder Consulting which specialises in setting up business operations in India for UK companies. The firm also advises Indian and UK companies in relation to joint ventures, technology transfers and international tax issues related to both inbound and outbound investments.
Sapan is a fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is a graduate of the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, North Carolina, specialising in finance and international business.
Sapan has over the years advised UK companies on setting up business operations in India and is a regular visitor to the UK. He has spoken at various international seminars across Europe and has contributed articles to international business and tax journals.
Jay Doshi started his career in accountancy with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). Jay has been a taxation specialist since 1981. Jay has held many senior appointments with both large and medium-sized accountancy practices and now specialises in advising owner-managed businesses, both on personal and business tax matters. He also has a great deal of experience in advising on large takeovers, management buy-outs and corporate restructuring and reorganisation.
Jay has a Masters Degree in Mathematics obtained at University College London and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA).
Jay lectures regularly to fellow practitioners and many have found him to be one of the best communicators of complex tax subjects. In the past, Jay has also lectured students studying for their exams.
Hemel is a graduate of University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and qualified as a chartered accountant with an audit firm in Central London. After gaining further experience with Baker Tilly, Hemel moved to the Nairobi office of PricewaterhouseCoopers in their tax and legal services department.
Hemel returned to London and joined Godley & Co, where he qualified as a chartered tax adviser. He is involved in all aspects of tax work. His particular expertise includes advising on business acquisitions, property taxation and dealing with complex corporation tax returns. He also does statutory audits.
Hemel enjoys travelling all over the world and is a keen supporter of Manchester United.
Khilna Malde graduated from University of Brighton in 2001 having completed a degree in Accounting and Finance in 2001. She then qualified as an Associated Chartered Certified Accountant with an accounting and tax advisory firm in South London.
Khilna joined Godley & Co in 2004 and has been involved in all aspects of tax work. She specialises in advising on property taxation; inheritance tax planning; non-domiciliary work; compliance issues for individuals and companies; VAT; employment tax issues including payroll matters and HM Revenue Customs enquiries and investigations.
Khilna actively participates in the annual “Race for Life” events raising money for Cancer Research and has been involved in organisations supporting disability. She is also a keen traveller and has won several swimming championships in Kenya.
Viral is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and a member of the Association of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
His areas of expertise include: non-UK domiciled clients, ATED, statutory residence test, high net worth clients, setting up offshore structures and owner managed businesses. Viral is also actively involved in firms’ business development activities.
Viral is a committee member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation - North London Branch. His hobbies include exploring the countryside, socialising with friends and travelling.
Yogesh specialises in advising SMEs on their tax planning matters. He has significant experience advising entrepreneurs and investors on raising capital through the Enterprise Investment Scheme (and SEIS) and advising individuals on their personal tax matters.
Prior to joining Godley in December 2014, Yogesh worked at PwC for seven years in the Private Business Tax team and the Advisory practice (within Corporate Finance and Business Recovery).
Yogesh is a graduate from the London School of Economics. He is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and Chartered Certified Accountant.
Yogesh is a school governor and chairs the finance and personnel committee. He is also a dance fitness instructor, a keen cyclist and urban gardener.
Akshi Maroo graduated from University of Warwick in 2004 having read Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics. She then completed her studies in Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) with an accounting and tax advisory firm in South London. She is currently studying to attain a tax qualification with the Association of Tax Technicians with an aspiration to become a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Akshi joined Godley & Co in 2011 and has been involved in various aspects of tax work. She specialises in tax compliance for individuals and companies, HM Revenue & Customs enquiries and investigations, taxation of trusts, VAT, preparation of iXBRL financial statements, advising on property taxation and non-resident landlords.
Akshi's hobbies include mountain climbing and hill-walking. She has successfully reached the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro. Akshi is a keen supporter of Liverpool Football Club.
Dipa manages our credit control function and deals with payroll for our clients.
Since joining Godley in 1998 Dipa has been involved in accounts production, company secretarial services, completing VAT returns and preparing property tax computations.
In her spare time Dipa enjoys reading, experimental cooking and dancing.
Nicola joined Godley & Co in June 2017 as the company’s Office Manager and Executive Assistant to Vipool.
Nicola has worked for over fifteen years within various accounting firms and brings a wealth of knowledge of various systems and procedures.
Nicola’s main passions in life are her young daughter and spending quality time with family and close friends. She loves walking, reading and adult conversation!
Beatrix joined Godley in 2007. She provides the team with secretarial support, including dealing with new client acceptance procedures and maintaining Godley’s filing system. Beatrix is also responsible for managing the team’s technical training across various training providers.
Beatrix has recently completed an NVQ course and has a Diploma Level 3 in Business and Administration.
Reading crime stories, learning languages and supporting Liverpool football club are just some of Beatrix’s hobbies.
