HMRC has announced a last minute extension. The notification deadline has been moved from 30 November 2009 to 4 January 2010. HMRC said that it moved the deadline after banks said they had insufficient time to write to all the customers with offshore accounts to alert them to the scheme.

HMRC have recently published new guidance on domicile (HMRC 6) and change of approach. HMRC will no longer accept initial non domicile claims on forms DOM 1 or form 86. Form DOM 1 is being withdrawn completely.
